Living Green Expo 2011!!

This will be the third year Green Pixie Baby has participated in the Living Green Expo in Franklin. This event is fun and informative, it is also a great way to support our local businesses doing their part to promote green living. Please join us at this years Expo. We will be donating a door prize, and will also be doing a drawing for a giveaway for those of you who stop by our booth. Please note that this year the event has moved and will be at the Franklin Ag Expo Center. I hope to see you there!

Keep Williamson Beautiful’s 3rd annual Living Green Expo, August 27, 2011 at the AG Expo Center, 4215 Long Lane, I65 Exit 61, Franklin, TN 37064. 9:30 am - 3:30 pm - FREE ADMISSION AND PARKING



Activities inspiring sustainability and green living for adults and children including: Green Businesses Leaders showcasing their products and/or services, Eco-Circle children’s educational area and Storytime, Nature Circle, Recycle Creations, Reuse Avenue, rain barrel making demonstrations, fashion show, truck load composter sale, unwanted medicine collection, document shredding, and more. On stage is a fashion show and caring for the environment skits/plays.



Come learn at the workshops, visit the green business leaders at their interactive educational displays, and register for the many door prizes. Something for everyone!

COME AND HELP SET A GUINNESSTM WORLD RECORD!

Cloth diapers have come a long way in past 10 years, and it’s time to stand up and be noticed. Join the cloth diaper community on April 23rd, 2011, at 9AM PDT / 10 AM PDT / 11CDT / 12 EDT to set a world record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously. There will be families on several continents joining us!

Event Description: The first 36 participants will receive a free goodie bag, snacks, and beverages will be served.

If space is available on day of event, onsite registration will be accepted but cannot be guaranteed.

EVENT RULES
There are a few rules to keep in mind:
1. Arrive on time!
2. For this record, each baby must be changed from a cloth or disposable diaper into a reusable cloth diaper that must be able to be purchased online or in a retail store. Unfortunately, homemade diapers that are not commercially available cannot be used. This is a very strict rule from Guinness World RecordsTM.
3. All babies and toddlers must be 39 inches or shorter.
4. Each baby must be paired with exactly one adult participant.

DONATION
Please bring $1 (or more) as a donation to the Real Diaper Association, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading the word about reusable cloth diapers.

Help Put Cloth Diapers in the Record Books
Cloth diapers have come a long way in past 10 years, and it’s time to stand up and be noticed. Celebrate Earth Day, by joining the North American and International cloth diaper communityon April 23rd, 2011 at 9AM PDT (11:00AM TN time)to set the Guinness world record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously.

There are many ways to participate so please take a few minutes to explore the site to find a location near you or offer to host a location of your own. The more babies participating the better, so every cloth diapered bum counts. Can’t attend an event near you? Consider getting involved in your local cloth diaper community by learning more about organizations like the RDIA and RDA.

We can’t wait to put cloth diapers into the record books!
